Generative AI (Content) – Definition
AI models capable of producing new text, images, or other content from a prompt, increasingly integrated directly into CMS authoring tools.
When generative AI assistance lives inside the CMS rather than an external tool, the entire process — generation, approval, publishing — stays within one logged, auditable workflow. This matters beyond convenience: content generated in an external AI tool and copy-pasted into the CMS loses its generation history, meaning there's no automatic record of which content was AI-assisted unless someone manually notes it — a gap that becomes a real compliance problem in regulated industries where disclosure of AI involvement may eventually be required. CMS-native generation preserves that provenance automatically at the point of creation.
