Multi-Site-Konfiguration – Definition

A multi-site configuration makes it possible to run several independent online stores or brand sites within a single platform instance.

Salesforce Commerce Cloud natively supports multi-site setups: different sites can have different domains, catalogs, price books, and languages — all within the same SFCC instance. In a CMS context, multi-site means content must be manageable per site and per market without affecting the structure of other sites. For multi-brand retailers or international teams, this is a core requirement for the CMS in use. A key architectural question is where shared content lives versus where site-specific content lives: brand-wide legal disclaimers might need to be maintained once and inherited across every site, while campaign messaging needs full independence per site. Systems that force a binary choice — everything shared or everything separate — create friction either way: too much sharing means one site can't run an independent campaign without affecting others, while too much separation means routine updates have to be duplicated manually.
