PWA Kit – Definition
Salesforce's toolkit for building progressive web app storefronts on Commerce Cloud, using a React-based, headless frontend architecture.
Migrating to a PWA Kit storefront primarily changes the presentation layer. When content is decoupled from the storefront codebase, that migration barely touches content, approval workflows, or translations. The reverse is also true and worth planning for: teams whose content is tightly embedded in SFRA-specific templates or content slots will find a PWA Kit migration forces a content rebuild alongside the frontend rebuild, since the old template-bound content simply has no equivalent rendering path in the new, API-driven architecture — another reason content decoupling pays off well before a migration is even on the roadmap.
