Salesforce B2C Commerce – Definition
Salesforce Commerce Cloud's solution specifically designed for business-to-consumer e-commerce.
B2C Commerce provides tools for creating engaging shopping experiences including AI-powered product recommendations, mobile-first design, and seamless checkout processes optimized for consumer shopping behaviors. As the productized edition of Salesforce Commerce Cloud aimed at consumer retail, B2C Commerce includes Einstein AI-powered merchandising and search out of the box, along with the SFRA (or increasingly, PWA Kit) storefront foundation most implementations build on. A defining characteristic of B2C Commerce deployments is the emphasis on conversion optimization at every step, since consumer buying decisions are typically made in a single, short session rather than the extended evaluation periods common in B2B. Content velocity is a particularly acute requirement specifically for B2C Commerce implementations, since consumer retail runs on a calendar of seasonal campaigns and flash sales that need to launch and retire quickly — which is why many B2C Commerce customers eventually add a specialized CMS layer to handle publishing speed that the native Page Designer alone doesn't fully address.
